The Redmi 14C brings several upgrades over its predecessor like a 120Hz display, a capable processor, and much more at under Rs 10,000. While it has bloatware-filled OS and a dated notch design, its decent performance in most aspects makes it an impressive addition to the sub-Rs 10,000 bracket.

The Samsung Galaxy A14 5G adopts the same design language as the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, making it challenging to discern the phone's name from its back panel alone. Its rounded edges offer a comfortable grip, while the 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate provides a vibrant viewing experience. However, the chunky bezels may not appeal to everyone. Powered by the Exynos 1330 SoC, the device effortlessly handles casual games but tends to heat up with multiple apps running simultaneously. On the rear, you'll find a 50MP primary camera and 2MP depth and macro cameras, delivering rich and detailed images with accurate colours. With a 5000mAh battery and a 15W charger included, the A14 ensures long-lasting usage. Running One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 out of the box, the interface offers a clean user experience. If you're seeking a smartphone that excels in the performance department under the Rs 20,000 price range, the A14 is an ideal choice.

The Redmi Note 8 is a solid upgrade over the already ultra-popular Redmi Note 7. It brings a faster processor (Snapdragon 665) and a quad-camera setup on the rear with 4K video recording. The phone looks good, works fast, and lasts longer, too. There’s nothing not to like about this phone. About ads, MIUI 11 is going to get a one-switch option to turn off all push notifications and ads served by Xiaomi’s system apps.

Redmi 10 Prime crosses the Rs 12,000 mark to graduate from a budget to a mid-range device for buyers. It uses the new MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, but this variant gets 4GB RAM only. The LCD display supports 90Hz refresh rate, and offers Full HD+ resolution. The storage is expandable, and even with a 6,000mAh battery the phone is comfortable to hold. However, the cameras are average for the price, and so is the 18W charging support.

The Realme 10 is equipped with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display. The phone packs an octa-core Helio G99 SoC which offers good performance. Thanks to a microSD card support, users can expand storage up to 1TB. The handset also supports up to 33W fast charging as well. However, the phone lacks 5G support and it still runs Android 12 out of the box. If the Android OS version and 5G aren't a concern, the Realme 10 is a good phone, considering that the device offers an AMOLED display, excellent performance, and 33W fast charging support.

The OPPO A18 features a 6.56-inch IPS LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate. While the display is clear indoors, it becomes challenging to see under bright sunlight. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, which handles everyday tasks adequately, though there is a noticeable lag sometimes. Intensive games frequently crash, disrupting the experience, whereas casual games run fairly well with only minor lags and stutters. On the back, the phone has an 8MP primary camera and a 2MP depth camera, while the front houses a 5MP selfie camera. The image quality is satisfactory for basic needs. The device boasts a 5000mAh battery, which is impressive and offers long battery life. It runs on ColorOS 13, based on Android 13, right out of the box. However, the device has numerous pre-installed apps, leading to a laggy user experience. Overall, while the phone is a decent option for its price, there are other alternatives in the market worth considering.

The Mi A3 is perfect for those who want a mid-range phone with stock Android UI, good cameras and long battery life. It’s a good-looking phone, too. While the phone has an AMOLED screen with good colors, we can’t help but notice its lower resolution (720p) for the size. Some might find Android One UI too basic for their needs, but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad phone. It’s just that they’ll have to install more third-party apps to get things done.

Realme C21Y is a hard-core budget phone that offers 4GB RAM with 64GB storage for under Rs 10,000. It is the first Realme phone to use Unisoc chipset that results in average overall performance. Lava Z6 packs a big screen, with MediaTek Helio chipset for performance. It's a big plus to have the phone with 6GB RAM that guarantees decent multi-tasking usage, and quick app loading time. The triple rear cameras offer dynamism, with focus on photos on different angles. The phone runs on stock Android 10 that comes bloatware-free. The large capacity battery ensures decent backup. All in all, the Z6 has a lot going for it.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 is a much-needed upgrade over the Mi A1. It offers solid build quality without comprising of functionality. The upgrade to a Snapdragon 660 chipset is highly appreciated. The cameras are also pretty decent considering the price bracket this device falls in. You also get decent battery life with fast charging support over USB Type-C. However, we do miss the 3.5mm headphone jack and are underwhelmed by this phone's display performance. The phone is still an excellent device to won and gets a solid recommendation from us.
