Google Chrome Gets Automatic Tab Grouping
The Google Chrome browser helps users sort similar tabs into groups for a convenient, clutter-free experience. However, it involves manually selecting all relevant tabs and creating a group for them. Google is simplifying this with the new automatic tab organiser powered by AI.
The Chrome browser can now automatically identify open tabs to suggest and create tab groups. To illustrate, if you are planning a trip to Lakshadweep and have several tabs open for creating an itinerary, Chrome will automatically sort these tabs and create a group for easy access. This is the most significant update to the Google Chrome Tab Grouping since it rolled out in 2021.
Chrome Users Can Create Custom Generative AI Chrome Themes
At its Made by Google event in October last year, the company announced the Android 14 update alongside the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones. One of the most hyped features of the latest Android update was generative AI wallpapers, which helped users create unique wallpapers using the AI-based text-to-image diffusion model.
Google is now bringing the same text-to-image diffusion model to the Chrome browser. Users can personalise their browsers with custom themes based on variables like color, visual styles, subject, mood, etc. Users can use the new feature from Customise Chrome > Change Theme > Create with AI in the side panel.
Writing on the Web Gets Easier With AI-Powered Help Me Write on Chrome
Google also announced a new Help Me Write feature coming to the Chrome browser in February. The feature is self-explanatory and is designed to help users write better on the web. The new feature will enable users to right-click on any text box to select Help Me Write and get suggestive text. This feature will help post reviews online, social media captions, and more.
These features are integrated into the browser and designed to enhance customization and increase functionality. With the Gemini AI model expanding to more devices and services in the coming year, we can expect Google to roll out more useful features to Chrome and Android in the future.
