With these two new prepaid recharge plans launched, Jio has become the first telecom operator globally to offer free Netflix with prepaid plans. The telco already offers bundled Netflix subscriptions with its Postpaid Plus and JioFiber plans. The new plans are priced at Rs 1,099 and Rs 1,499. Both new Jio prepaid plans offer a validity of 84 days to its users.
Those who recharge with the Rs 1,099 Jio prepaid plan will get unlimited voice calling and 2GB of daily data. Jio is also offering unlimited 5G data as part of the Jio Welcome offer. Jio is bundling a free Netflix Mobile subscription with this plan. The Netflix Mobile Plan is priced at Rs 149 monthly and offers 480p streaming on smartphones and tablets.
On the other hand, users opting for the Rs 1,499 Jio prepaid recharge plan will get 3GB of daily data and unlimited 5G data as part of the Jio Welcome offer. Users also get the unlimited voice calling benefit with this plan. However, instead of Netflix Mobile, the Rs 1,499 plan offers a Netflix Basic subscription. The Basic subscription is priced at Rs 199 per month. It offers 720p streaming on TVs, computers, smartphones, and tablets.
If you plan to watch Netflix only on your phone or tablet, the Rs 1,099 Jio prepaid plan is ideal. But if you want to enjoy the free Netflix subscription on a big screen, the Rs 1,499 plan is the one. All you have to do is sign in to Netflix on your TV or computer using the registered Jio mobile number.
