Xiaomi Confirms HyperOS Arrival in India: Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi Pad 6 to Get Update First

Xiaomi recently confirmed the debut of the Redmi Note 13 5G series smartphone in India. A recent leak divulged that the smartphones will debut with MIUI 14 based on Android 13 out of the box. The leak also revealed that forthcoming smartphones will not receive the HyperOS update anytime soon. But that does not mean Xiaomi is not bringing the new user interface to India. The company has now confirmed the arrival of the HyperOS, which is set to replace the MIUI software in existing Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO smartphones and tablets.

The company has also revealed the rollout schedule of the update for the flagship Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphone and Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet.

Xiaomi HyperOS Arrival in India

The Chinese smartphone giant confirms the arrival of the HyperOS in January. The company reveals that the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 6 will be the first devices in India to receive the HyperOS update. Xiaomi promises to offer a new and improved user experience with the forthcoming HyperOS update.

Xiaomi is expected to announce the update schedule and list of eligible devices in the upcoming weeks. The upcoming Xiaomi 14 smartphone will be the first smartphone to debut with HyperOS based on Android 14 out of the box. Xiaomi is rumoured to debut the forthcoming flagship smartphone at the MWC 2024 event.

Xiaomi previously confirmed that the HyperOS would arrive soon for global users. The company confirmed that eight smartphones from Xiaomi and Redmi will receive the update in the first quarter of 2024. POCO global also took out to X (formerly Twitter) that the POCO F5 smartphone will receive the update soon in the global region.

The company has already started rolling out the updates for POCO F5. The new HyperOS is based on the Linux and Xiaomi Vela systems developed by the Chinese smartphone giant. The Vela system will allow the devices to run efficiently with various products from the brand. Xiaomi has made the new HyperOS in such a way that itrequires only minimum resources.

The user interface (UI) also packs AI features, increasing the smartphone’s performance and security. The Xiaoai Input will assist the smartphone in text creation, WPS document scanning and more. The built-in AI can also help the smartphone in AI image search. Xiaomi offers a redefined control centre and plenty of customizations for the lock screen with new fonts, widgets and templates.

Xiaomi claims that the TEE security system will process the sensitive contents separately. The system offers transparent and customizable internet permissions to ensure complete visibility.

The company also reveals the firmware size can be changed depending on the hardware needs. The company claims that the new HyperOS has the lowest firmware size in the industry. The cross-device collaboration will allow the apps to use multiple devices. Xiaomi states the smartphone camera can be used for video calls and conferences on a PC.
