Lu Weibing, Xiaomi President, has revealed the processor details of the upcoming K70 series smartphones.
Redmi K70 Series Chipset Details Confirmed: Expected Specifications
The new post shared by Xiaomi President on Weibo hints that Xiaomi will equip the upcoming K70 series smartphone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The 2022 flagship chipset is known for its performance and efficiency upgrades over its predecessors. Xiaomi President asks whether the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC can replace the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC which was found on multiple smartphones.
Lu Weibing termed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset as the flagship darling of 2023. The chipset was found on various smartphones from multiple OEMs. Xiaomi equipped the vanilla Redmi K60 smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Xiaomi could continue equipping the vanilla model with previous-generation flagship chipsets. However, Xiaomi President hasn’t explicitly confirmed the Redmi K70 moniker in his post.
The timing of the post on Weibo hints that the Xiaomi President is indeed mentioning the upcoming Redmi K70 series smartphones. Xiaomi confirmed that the K70 series smartphones will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The chipset is likely to be reserved for the Redmi K70 Pro smartphone. Another K70 series smartphone with the model number 2311DRK48C was spotted on GeekBench, which is believed to be K70e. The GeekBench listing confirmed that the device will have the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 8300 SoC. The 3C certification of the forthcoming K70 series smartphones revealed that the vanilla K70 will feature 90W wired fast charging tech.
The leaked renders of the smartphone revealed a centred punch-hole cutout and a bezel-less design. The rectangular camera cutout revealed that Xiaomi will equip the smartphone with triple-rear cameras. Digital Chat Station reveals that Xiaomi will equip the K70 Pro smartphone with a 2K flat AMOLED display. The device is tipped to equip a 5120mAh battery with 120W fast charging tech.
