The Galaxy S26 delivers a polished, reliable experience, but it struggles to justify its price in 2026. You still get a great display, clean software, and consistent cameras, but the lack of meaningful upgrades, underwhelming performance, and disappointing battery life hold it back. Its a phone that feels comfortable rather than cutting-edge. For everyday users, it works well, but for the price, there are competitors offering more power, better endurance, and a clearer sense of progress.

The Vivo X300 FE proves that compact smartphones no longer need to compromise on battery life, cameras, or performance. Its comfortable form factor, excellent telephoto camera, vibrant display, and outstanding battery life make it one of the most well-rounded compact flagships available today. However, its biggest challenge comes from within Vivos own lineup. At its current price, the standard Vivo X300 remains a compelling alternative. Still, if portability is your top priority, the X300 FE makes a very strong case for itself.

The Redmi Turbo 5 is a performance-first smartphone that excels where it matters most for gamers and power users. Its excellent display, long-lasting battery, fast charging, and durable build make it one of the strongest options under Rs. 40,000. The cameras and software experience aren't class-leading, but they're acceptable compromises for what this phone delivers.

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion does not attempt to lead the segment in raw performance or camera hardware. Instead, it focuses on a combination of a smooth display, large battery capacity, and a relatively uncluttered software experience.
The quad-curved 144Hz AMOLED display and battery capacity are likely the phones most noticeable strengths in everyday use. At the same time, the Snapdragon chipset delivers performance consistent with other devices in this price range.
At 26,999, the Edge 70 Fusion sits in a competitive part of the market. Its overall approach feels more about providing a stable, well-rounded experience rather than pushing aggressive specifications in any single area.

The OnePlus Nord 6 prioritises performance and battery life, particularly for users who engage in gaming or sustained workloads. It maintains stable performance under load, while the battery is capable of lasting beyond a full day with typical use. The primary camera delivers consistent results with good detail and natural colours. The larger form factor, however, can make prolonged usage less comfortable. Overall, it offers a functional balance of performance and endurance, with few trade-offs outside of ergonomics.

The Samsung Galaxy A57 refines an already familiar formula with a slimmer design, stable performance, and a dependable software experience supported by long-term update support. The display remains a strong point, and the cameras produce natural-looking photos in most conditions. However, peak performance falls behind some similarly priced rivals; the absence of a telephoto lens feels like a missed opportunity; and battery efficiency could be improved. Nonetheless, the Galaxy A57 focuses on providing a balanced everyday experience, making it a sensible choice for users who prioritise consistency, longevity, and overall reliability over chasing standout specifications.

The Motorola Edge 70 pleasantly defies the usual compromises associated with ultra-slim phones. It delivers a comfortable in-hand feel, reliable battery life, and smooth day-to-day performance without feeling fragile. The display stands out for its price, and while the cameras and gaming chops aren’t segment leaders, they’re sufficient for its intended users. At Rs 29,999, it’s a well-balanced choice for those who prioritise comfort, lightness, and everyday usability over sheer specs.

The Moto Edge 70 Pro does not dominate the segment in any one area, but that is exactly what makes it so compelling. It delivers strong performance, excellent battery life, a clean software experience, reliable cameras, and a premium design without major compromises. The missing telephoto camera may disappoint some users, and gaming-focused buyers still have faster options. Still, for people who want a genuinely balanced smartphone under 40,000, the Edge 70 Pro quietly becomes one of the smartest and easiest recommendations right now.

The Vivo V70 offers a largely well-rounded experience, anchored by a premium build, a strong display, reliable camera performance, and excellent battery life. OriginOS 6 feels smooth and cohesive in everyday use, though frequent notifications from the V App Store detract from an otherwise clean software experience. Performance is sufficient for daily tasks, but gaming limitations, including the 60fps cap in BGMI and noticeable heating during extended sessions, hold it back as a gaming-focused option. The design feels polished and premium, even if it lacks a distinct visual identity. Overall, the V70 makes sense for users who prioritise camera consistency, refinement, and battery endurance over outright performance.

The Galaxy A37 builds on a familiar formula, offering a smooth display, dependable cameras, and a clean, reliable software experience backed by long-term updates. Day-to-day performance feels stable, and features such as on-device AI editing add real convenience. However, battery life is only adequate for the segment, and performance falls short of rivals' in some areas, especially in gaming. Camera output is consistent but does not particularly stand out. The Samsung Galaxy A17 stays true to its roots in the Galaxy A series. It offers a vibrant display, years of guaranteed software updates, and solid battery life at a price that many can afford. Although its performance is mostly adequate for regular use, when pushed to its limits with demanding games or heavy multitasking, it may not offer the best experience in this price segment. The mono speaker setup also falls short of delivering the depth and clarity needed for an immersive multimedia experience. Fortunately, this limitation doesnt take away from the phones overall usability.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE nails most essentials for 59,999, offering a vivid display, rich stereo sound, and clean, snappy software in a sleek design. It handles daily tasks well but warms up under heavier loads. Daylight photos shine with detail, though low-light shots lose clarity. While close to a flagship feel, rivals like the Vivo X200 FE and Realme GT 7 Pro provide better value. A price drop could change the equation, making Samsungs latest FE a more compelling buy.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 is a solid phone, but its not a revolution. Its an evolution, and a rather conservative one at that. If you loved the S23 and S24, youll probably like this one too. The display along with the tiny form factor and the classy build can score high points amongst all personalities. One UI is brilliant, better than any other Android flagship, and to an extent even stock Android. Moreover, you get seven years of promised upgrades.
So, yes, the cutie-patootie does deliver, but the Galaxy S24 is much better value for money with a recent price drop. It has Galaxy AI features too, and is essentially the same phone in terms of camera and battery performance.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra feels less like a traditional flagship smartphone and more like a serious photography tool that also happens to be an excellent phone. Its camera system is genuinely addictive to use, especially if you enjoy experimenting with focal lengths, RAW editing, and manual controls. The iQOO 15R focuses on performance and battery life, and it largely succeeds in those areas. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 handles demanding games and everyday tasks well, though the phone can warm up during longer sessions. The Xiaomi 17T gets most things right. It delivers a premium design, a fantastic display, reliable performance, and, for the first time, Leica-tuned cameras on a T-series smartphone. The 5x telephoto camera is a standout, while the pricing makes it even more appealing in a market where premium mid-rangers are creeping into flagship territory. The Galaxy S25 Ultra shifts focus from hardware to software and AI, offering a more refined experience. While its design is similar to the S24 Ultra, it still features one of the best smartphone displays, impressive performance, and long battery life. The cameras deliver consistent, high-quality results, and One UI 7 adds customization, with Samsung offering seven years of software support. The OnePlus 15R marks a shift in the R series, with performance now clearly taking priority over features that once defined its all-rounder identity. The telephoto camera is gone, and the ultra-wide remains the weakest link, producing softer images in certain conditions. That said, the primary camera impresses with sharp details, accurate colours, and natural-looking portraits. Flagship-class performance, excellent thermal control, and class-leading battery life make daily use effortless. The fluid high-refresh display and polished OxygenOS experience further elevate the handset. Despite its focus on speed and endurance, the 15R still feels balanced, delivering a compelling package for most users.

Apple unveiled the iPhone 16 globally this month, and the colour choices are nothing short of stunning. The design also stands out from the usual iPhones we've seen over the past year or two, with a look reminiscent of the iPhone X launched five years ago. This time, Apple has added more rounded edges, making it noticeably more comfortable in hand compared to earlier models. On the performance side, both the Pro and standard variants now share similar chipsets, incorporating AI features that enhance productivity. Additionally, a new capture button simplifies the camera experience, making zooming in and out much easier. The cameras themselves have received upgrades, ensuring they outperform those of their predecessors. If you're seeking a flagship device with a stylish design, top-tier build quality, and refined software, the iPhone 16 is the perfect choice.

Sure, the iPhone 15 may seem like it costs a pretty penny, but it brings a lot of important Apple tech such as USB Type-C, 48MP camera, Dynamic Island and the A16 Bionic chip. Despite the lack of a telephoto camera on the iPhone 15, its computational photography prowess helps it be one of the best camera phones for the price point. At 20W, the charging speeds are still archaic, but its battery life is surprisingly good for a phone its size.
The integration of iOS 16 ensures a smooth and secure user experience. The Dynamic Island is a useful addition compared to the plain old notch on the display. However, the absence of a high-refresh-rate display might be a drawback for users accustomed to smoother animations. The iPhone 15's price may be justified for Apple enthusiasts seeking to upgrade from older phones.

The OPPO Reno 15 delivers a polished smartphone experience with its premium design, smooth software, and dependable battery life that easily lasts through a full day. The display remains easily visible outdoors, adding to its practicality. While performance may not be its strongest suit for the price, it still handles routine tasks well. The ultra-wide camera could use refinement, but overall, it’s a solid choice for users who value design, software, and reliability.

The Vivo V60 impresses with its excellent Zeiss-optimized camera, superior battery life, rugged IP68/IP69 durability, and reliable software support, making it ideal for users valuing consistent photography and longevity. However, its bulkier build and average gaming performance compared to rivals like the Vivo T4 Ultra may be drawbacks for those wanting a lighter form factor and flagship-level speed. Overall, the V60 offers a polished experience for everyday use but falls short for performance-focused buyers.

The Realme GT7 is a performance-packed smartphone that delivers flagship-grade speed and impressive battery life thanks to its MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset. Its vibrant display and rich speakers offer a memorable multimedia experience, while daylight photos come out lively and true to life. Housed in an attractive design, its held back by variable camera performance in changing light, a few pre-installed apps, and slightly soft buttons for its Rs40,000 price. The GT7 impresses enough to render the GT7 Pro slightly redundant.

The Google Pixel 10a is not the most powerful phone in its segment, and it misses out on features like a telephoto camera and faster charging. However, what it offers instead is a refined, reliable experience. The compact design, smooth Android 16 interface, and strong camera processing make it a pleasure to use daily. If you prioritise clean software and consistency over raw specs, the Pixel 10a makes sense. But for pure performance and versatility, competitors offer better value.

The POCO X7 Pro is a great choice if you're on a budget, want a sleek design, and demand solid performance. While BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile need better optimization, it offers a fantastic display and long-lasting battery for entertainment and daily use. However, its cameras struggle with exposure, and the OS can be intrusive with notifications. If you prefer strong optics, the Vivo T3 Pro is a solid alternative, while the Nothing Phone 2 offers a cleaner UI. For pure performance, the X7 Pro excels.

The Poco X8 Pro Max knows exactly what it wants to be, and it commits fully. It’s not chasing balance or perfection; instead, it doubles down on raw performance and absurd battery life. And honestly, it delivers. But that focus comes at a cost. The software still feels messy, and the cameras are just average at best. This isn’t for everyone. But if your priorities are gaming, endurance, and not worrying about charging, this phone makes a very strong case

The Nothing Phone 4a offers a well-balanced experience that emphasises everyday usability over impressive specifications. Its transparent design still feels unique, the display appears natural, and the cameras work reliably in various situations. Battery life is sufficient to get through a busy day, and Nothing OS 4.1 maintains a clean, smooth interface. However, the Glyph interface feels less expressive than before, performance is not the best in this price range, and the IP64 rating provides only basic protection. Nonetheless, the Phone 4a remains an easy phone to appreciate for its consistency and thoughtful design.

Starting at Rs 31,999, the OnePlus Nord 5 offers a reliable mid-range experience that focuses on refinement over reinvention. Its 6,800mAh battery holds strong through daily use, coming close to flagship-level endurance. Powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the phone handles multitasking and casual gaming smoothly, with no heating issues. While the camera hardware remains unchanged, image quality stays dependable. The new Plus Key replaces the Alert Slider, bringing handy AI features that actually add value. For users of older Nord models, this is a solid upgrade. But if you're already on the Nord 4 or 3, waiting might make more sense. And if premium design matters, the Realme GT 6 series may appeal more. The Nord 5 gets the basics right, and for many, thats more than enough.

The Vivo X300 Ultra isnt trying to be a balanced flagshipand thats exactly its appeal. It delivers one of the most capable camera systems on a smartphone today, backed by strong performance, a great display, and excellent battery life. But that focus comes at a cost: its bulky, expensive, and not the most practical daily device. If photography and videography are your priority, its easy to recommend. For everyone else, more well-rounded options make better sense.

The OnePlus 13 aims to reclaim the brands crown with a flagship that checks all the boxes. While the design sees minor refinements, it looks more sophisticated, and the 6,000mAh battery sets a new benchmark. The Snapdragon 8 Elite delivers impressive performance, excelling in high-intensity gaming with better heat management than rivals like iQOO 13 and Realme GT 7 Pro. However, its camera setup isnt a significant upgrade and faces tough competition from the Vivo X200 and Find X8. Despite a higher price, the OnePlus 13 is a well-rounded flagship, ideal for those seeking performance and reliability.
