The Redmi Turbo 5 is a performance-first smartphone that excels where it matters most for gamers and power users. Its excellent display, long-lasting battery, fast charging, and durable build make it one of the strongest options under Rs. 40,000. The Moto Edge 70 Pro does not dominate the segment in any one area, but that is exactly what makes it so compelling. It delivers strong performance, excellent battery life, a clean software experience, reliable cameras, and a premium design without major compromises. The missing telephoto camera may disappoint some users, and gaming-focused buyers still have faster options. Still, for people who want a genuinely balanced smartphone under 40,000, the Edge 70 Pro quietly becomes one of the smartest and easiest recommendations right now.

The Galaxy A37 builds on a familiar formula, offering a smooth display, dependable cameras, and a clean, reliable software experience backed by long-term updates. Day-to-day performance feels stable, and features such as on-device AI editing add real convenience. However, battery life is only adequate for the segment, and performance falls short of rivals' in some areas, especially in gaming. Camera output is consistent but does not particularly stand out. Nonetheless, the Galaxy A37 remains a well-rounded choice for those who prioritise stability, ease of use, and long-term software support over outright power.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 offers impressive battery life and a stunning display, making it a solid choice for everyday users who prioritize reliability. However, it falls short in camera performance and gaming capabilities, which may disappoint those seeking high-end specs. While the design is functional, it lacks the polish of competitors in the same price range. Overall, the Nord CE 6 is a dependable mid-range smartphone, ideal for casual users but not for performance enthusiasts.

The Vivo V60 impresses with its excellent Zeiss-optimized camera, superior battery life, rugged IP68/IP69 durability, and reliable software support, making it ideal for users valuing consistent photography and longevity. However, its bulkier build and average gaming performance compared to rivals like the Vivo T4 Ultra may be drawbacks for those wanting a lighter form factor and flagship-level speed. The Realme GT 7T strikes an impressive balance between flagship performance and practical usability. Its powerful processor handles demanding tasks effortlessly, while the vibrant display and stereo speakers deliver immersive experiences for gaming and media consumption. The exceptional battery life ensures all-day reliability with remarkably fast charging, eliminating power anxiety. The premium build quality with robust durability feels reassuring in daily use. The Realme GT7 is a performance-packed smartphone that delivers flagship-grade speed and impressive battery life thanks to its MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset. Its vibrant display and rich speakers offer a memorable multimedia experience, while daylight photos come out lively and true to life. Housed in an attractive design, its held back by variable camera performance in changing light, a few pre-installed apps, and slightly soft buttons for its Rs40,000 price. The GT7 impresses enough to render the GT7 Pro slightly redundant.

The Realme 16 offers a straightforward experience, with battery life being one of its key strengths, easily lasting through a full day of use. The primary camera also performs well, capturing pleasing photos across different conditions. However, performance may feel limited compared to similarly priced options, especially during heavier tasks. The absence of additional cameras also reduces versatility. Overall, it remains a usable option for everyday needs, particularly for users who prioritise battery life and a capable main camera.

The Realme 15 Pro offers a solid all-round experience with minimal drawbacks. Despite missing a telephoto lens, its trio of 50MP cameras performs reliably in most scenarios, though colour inconsistency remains. Strong battery life, a refined design, and a great multimedia setup make it a dependable daily driver. The software is packed with useful features but let down by some bloatware. While everyday performance is smooth, rivals like the OnePlus Nord 5, the iQOO Neo 10, and POCO F7 offer more raw power.

The Nothing Phone 4a offers a well-balanced experience that emphasises everyday usability over impressive specifications. Its transparent design still feels unique, the display appears natural, and the cameras work reliably in various situations. Battery life is sufficient to get through a busy day, and Nothing OS 4.1 maintains a clean, smooth interface. However, the Glyph interface feels less expressive than before, performance is not the best in this price range, and the IP64 rating provides only basic protection. Nonetheless, the Phone 4a remains an easy phone to appreciate for its consistency and thoughtful design.

The POCO X7 Pro is a great choice if you're on a budget, want a sleek design, and demand solid performance. While BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile need better optimization, it offers a fantastic display and long-lasting battery for entertainment and daily use. However, its cameras struggle with exposure, and the OS can be intrusive with notifications. If you prefer strong optics, the Vivo T3 Pro is a solid alternative, while the Nothing Phone 2 offers a cleaner UI. For pure performance, the X7 Pro excels.

The Infinix Note 60 Pro delivers a well-rounded experience, with a smooth 144Hz display, solid speakers, reliable battery life, and clean day-to-day performance. The main camera is dependable, and thermals remain impressively well controlled. However, the safe, iPhone-inspired design, limited IP64 rating, and use of UFS 2.2 storage hold it back. The Pro tag also feels stretched, especially given gimmicks like the inconsistent heart rate sensor. Still, for those prioritising stability and everyday usability over peak performance, the Note 60 Pro remains a sensible and easy phone to live with.

The Realme 16 Pro takes a selective approach, doubling down on what its core audience actually cares about. It stands out with a striking design, a high-quality display, long-lasting battery life, and a dependable main camera rather than chasing raw performance. The 7,000mAh battery, IP68/IP69K protection, and 200MP sensor add real appeal. That said, power users and gamers may find stronger options at this price.

The POCO F7 is a solid step forward for the brand, offering a near all-rounder experience. Its cameras impress in most conditions but lack flexibility. Performance is strong for both daily and heavy tasks, though heating due to poor optimisation is a drawback. The software is smooth and packed with features, but bloatware may annoy some. Battery life is decent, and multimedia performance is enjoyable. While its a compelling choice for gamers, the iQOO Neo 10 handles the same chip more efficiently.

The Vivo V50 feels like a familiar sequelsimilar to the Vivo V40 but with some fresh upgrades. Vivo's "if it aint broke, dont fix it" approach works here. While not a radical change, the V50 surprised with its sleek design and solid improvements. The display and build feel premium, and though I feared dropping it due to the glossy/matte finish, I didnt have to test my luck. ZEISS cameras improve photo quality, and at Rs 34,999, its a good deal for photography. Battery life easily lasts over a day and a half with heavy use. If you're on the Vivo V40, skip the upgrade. But if your phones older, the V50 is a strong choicejust dont expect mind-blowing performance.

The Galaxy A56 5G gets the basics right with a sleek design, vibrant display, and dependable battery life, making it a strong all-rounder in the midrange segment. It may not be the flashiest, but it's built to last and delivers where it matters.
That said, for its price, the Galaxy A56 faces a lot of competition from phones such as the OnePlus 13R, Xiaomi 14 CIVI, and Vivo V50, all of which offer fairly good cameras and more powerful performance. Not just that, you also get a good combo of battery life and blazing fast charging speeds. So, if that's on your priority list, maybe going with the above options will be more beneficial.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus impresses with a vibrant, eye-catching display that makes media and daily interactions enjoyable. On the camera front, it delivers accurate daylight colors, strong shadow detail, and stable front-facing videos, though a telephoto lens would add more versatility. Battery efficiency could be better, and overall performance feels slightly modest for the price, but it remains a solid, dependable choice.

The phone however lacks a microSD card slot and a telephoto lens. If you are looking for a pure Android experience with a great camera and performance, then the Pixel 8 is worth considering.

The OPPO Reno 12 possesses an unique proposition in the sub-Rs 35,000 price range: a camera-centric phone dabbling in AI as well. The AI features on this phone are far from just gimmicks, and they can actually come in handy for office-goers and students. The cameras are good too, but the ultra-wide shooter and the low-light photography need a bit of tweaking; however, these are just minor gripes that dont really affect the phones quality in the grand scheme of things.

The OPPO Reno12 Pro boasts a sleek dual-tone design, a premium quad-curved display, and a reliable battery life that lasts over a day with moderate to heavy use. Its AI features can simplify everyday tasks, but the camera, particularly the portrait mode, needs updates. If you prioritize portraits, consider the Xiaomi 14 Civi or Vivo V30 Pro. For gamers, the Realme GT 6 and OnePlus 12R are better options. Overall, the Reno12 Pro offers stable, reliable performance with useful AI features, but may not satisfy performance enthusiasts.
