The Vivo S2 is a smartphone that prioritises style over outright performance. Its premium design, vibrant AMOLED display, dependable battery life, and smooth software experience make it a compelling choice for users who value aesthetics and multimedia consumption. However, the average chipset, limited camera hardware, and relatively slow charging hold it back in a fiercely competitive segment. If design and display are your top priorities, the Vivo S2 won't disappoint. Otherwise, there are more well-rounded alternatives available under Rs 40,000.

The Redmi Note 17 offers a stylish design, solid build quality and a smooth 120Hz display, making it a fairly well-rounded option for everyday users. Its battery backup is also dependable for regular usage. However, the overall performance feels slightly underwhelming for its price, while the camera setup could have been more versatile. Portrait shots need better edge separation, and the lack of an ultrawide lens limits flexibility. Overall, it is a decent package, but not without a few compromises.

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion does not attempt to lead the segment in raw performance or camera hardware. Instead, it focuses on a combination of a smooth display, large battery capacity, and a relatively uncluttered software experience.
The quad-curved 144Hz AMOLED display and battery capacity are likely the phones most noticeable strengths in everyday use. At the same time, the Snapdragon chipset delivers performance consistent with other devices in this price range.
At 26,999, the Edge 70 Fusion sits in a competitive part of the market. Its overall approach feels more about providing a stable, well-rounded experience rather than pushing aggressive specifications in any single area.

The Realme P3 is a solid choice for budget users seeking top-notch performance. Its new chipset ensures smooth gaming, and the 6,000mAh battery supports long sessions. Despite its large chin, the vibrant display enhances viewing.
However, the software, while smooth, comes with bloatware, and the camera struggles with lighting inconsistencies. Still, for power-hungry users, its a great pick. If you prefer a cleaner software experience, the CMF Phone 1 is a compelling alternative.

The OnePlus N6 doesn't try to win the spec sheet race, and that's exactly what makes it interesting. It prioritises reliability over raw performance, offering exceptional battery life, a clean OxygenOS experience, and dependable day-to-day performance. The HD+ LCD display and average gaming capabilities are noticeable compromises, but they're easier to accept once you experience its multi-day battery life. If you're after a phone that simply lasts and gets the basics right, the OnePlus N6 is an easy recommendation in its price segment.

The POCO X7 Pro is a great choice if you're on a budget, want a sleek design, and demand solid performance. Its battery life is reliable and comfortably lasts through a full day, while the speakers are loud enough for casual media consumption. The Poco M7 Pro impresses with its OLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, upgraded processor, and larger battery. The display is vibrant and smooth, great for gaming, with solid audio. However, bloatware and inconsistent camera performance are drawbacks. While the performance is good, it's not the best in its classconsider the CMF Phone 1 or iQOO Z9x for more power. Despite some minor issues, this is a solid upgrade from last year and could be the right choice if you can overlook the bloatware.

The Vivo X200T is a solid premium smartphone that focuses on everyday usability. Its excellent battery life and fast charging make it easy to rely on throughout the day, while the cameras deliver pleasing results in most lighting conditions. The Samsung Galaxy S25 is a solid phone, but its not a revolution. Its an evolution, and a rather conservative one at that. If you loved the S23 and S24, youll probably like this one too. The display along with the tiny form factor and the classy build can score high points amongst all personalities. One UI is brilliant, better than any other Android flagship, and to an extent even stock Android. Moreover, you get seven years of promised upgrades.
So, yes, the cutie-patootie does deliver, but the Galaxy S24 is much better value for money with a recent price drop. It has Galaxy AI features too, and is essentially the same phone in terms of camera and battery performance.

The Moto G64 aims to offer an affordable device without cutting too many corners. And it succeeds in that aspect to a large extent. If you go for the higher-end variant, you get 256GB storage and 12GB RAM for under Rs 16,000, which is impressive. What stands out is the design, the general performance, the camera, and the large battery size. The user interface is also simple.
But then Motorola is restricting Android updates to just one more version. Is this the best display one can get on a phone? No, nor is it a device centred around gaming. But then, given the price, it ticks some of the more important boxes quite nicely. If one goes by pricing, its biggest rival would be the Realme P1, which has more to offer on the gaming front. Get the Moto G64 if you want a phone that does the basics well and your budget is limited to Rs 14,000-Rs 16,000.

The iQOO 15R focuses on performance and battery life, and it largely succeeds in those areas. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 handles demanding games and everyday tasks well, though the phone can warm up during longer sessions. The AMOLED display is bright and smooth, even if it usually operates at 120Hz rather than its advertised 144Hz. Battery life easily lasts a full day of mixed use. The cameras are adequate, but the lack of a telephoto lens limits overall versatility.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra shifts focus from hardware to software and AI, offering a more refined experience. While its design is similar to the S24 Ultra, it still features one of the best smartphone displays, impressive performance, and long battery life. The cameras deliver consistent, high-quality results, and One UI 7 adds customization, with Samsung offering seven years of software support. However, it isnt without flaws: the S-Pen lacks Bluetooth, charging speeds are slow, and the shutter speed can miss moments. For users seeking a dependable phone with solid endurance, consistent performance, and capable imaging, the P4 Pro is a strong choice.

The Galaxy A56 5G gets the basics right with a sleek design, vibrant display, and dependable battery life, making it a strong all-rounder in the midrange segment. It may not be the flashiest, but it's built to last and delivers where it matters.
That said, for its price, the Galaxy A56 faces a lot of competition from phones such as the OnePlus 13R, Xiaomi 14 CIVI, and Vivo V50, all of which offer fairly good cameras and more powerful performance. Not just that, you also get a good combo of battery life and blazing fast charging speeds. So, if that's on your priority list, maybe going with the above options will be more beneficial.

The Realme P4x comes with a few compromises. The LCD lacks AMOLED punch, charging feels slow for such a large battery, the camera struggles in low light, and the software still has some clutter. Speaker output also loses depth at higher volumes.
That said, these issues rarely affect daily use. Performance stays smooth, the high-refresh display feels fluid, battery life easily lasts a day, and the build feels sturdy. Overall, the P4x stands out as a dependable and well-balanced option in its price segment.

The Motorola Signature marks a confident return to the flagship segment. It stands out with its premium design, lightweight ergonomics, refined display, and reliable cameras. Daily performance is smooth, even if it falls slightly short of expectations at its price. The reliance on cloud-based AI features also feels like a missed opportunity. That said, strong optimisation, solid battery life, and seven years of software updates add long-term value. Priced at Rs 60,000, it competes with compact rivals like the Vivo X200FE and OnePlus 13s, while offering a more balanced flagship experience overall.

Sure, the iPhone 15 may seem like it costs a pretty penny, but it brings a lot of important Apple tech such as USB Type-C, 48MP camera, Dynamic Island and the A16 Bionic chip. Despite the lack of a telephoto camera on the iPhone 15, its computational photography prowess helps it be one of the best camera phones for the price point. At 20W, the charging speeds are still archaic, but its battery life is surprisingly good for a phone its size.
The integration of iOS 16 ensures a smooth and secure user experience. The Dynamic Island is a useful addition compared to the plain old notch on the display. However, the absence of a high-refresh-rate display might be a drawback for users accustomed to smoother animations. The iPhone 15's price may be justified for Apple enthusiasts seeking to upgrade from older phones.

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite gets the fundamentals right without trying too hard to impress on paper. Its biggest strength is the massive 7,000mAh battery, which easily delivers close to two days of usage, while OxygenOS continues to offer one of the cleanest software experiences in the segment. The LCD panel and low-light cameras are average compared to AMOLED rivals, but the smooth day-to-day performance, reliable thermals, loud stereo speakers, and polished usability make this an easy recommendation for users prioritising battery life and consistency over flashy specifications.

The iQOO Z10 offers a great mix of flagship-like features without breaking the bank. Its standout 7,300mAh battery delivers impressive real-world endurance, and performance remains smooth whether you're gaming or handling everyday tasks all without heating issues. However, photography lovers might be disappointed by the lack of an ultra-wide camera. If long battery life, strong performance, a vibrant display, and a premium design top your list, the iQOO Z10 is a solid pick at Rs 21,999. You can also explore options like the Vivo T4, Nothing Phone (3a), or the CMF Phone 2 Pro (higher storage variant) in the same range.

The Realme GT7 is a performance-packed smartphone that delivers flagship-grade speed and impressive battery life thanks to its MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset. Its vibrant display and rich speakers offer a memorable multimedia experience, while daylight photos come out lively and true to life. Housed in an attractive design, its held back by variable camera performance in changing light, a few pre-installed apps, and slightly soft buttons for its Rs40,000 price. The GT7 impresses enough to render the GT7 Pro slightly redundant.
