Xiaomi Redmi 9A sits in the budget smartphone segment and offers a host of features that are pretty good for the price. It sports a 6.53-inch bright HD+ display with notch, powered by octa-core Mediatek chipset, features dual rear camera and comes loaded with a 5,000mAh battery. The only gripe with the phone is that it comes with 2GB RAM and microUSB port for charging.

Realme C20 is budget device that comes powered by MediaTek Helio G35 chipset. It gets a 6.5-inch HD+ screen quality and offers long backup thanks to the built-in 5,000mAh battery. The single rear camera does a good job, and you get 32GB internal storage. But it only gets 2GB RAM, runs on Android 10 and supports charging via microUSB port. Worth looking at other options in this price range.

The Redmi 7A is an impressive choice for first-time smartphone buyers. Priced at just Rs 6,499, it offers a large screen, decently fast performance for day-to-day tasks, feature-rich MIUI software, adequate cameras, and long battery life. We wish Xiaomi had used a USB Type-C port, though.

Samsung's Galaxy A03 Core is another Android Go phone that seeks your attention, especially for its price, but the overall features are just not impressive. It gets a big HD+ display with notch, the performance is manageable and you have cameras that just offer something. The battery life is good though. Still, not good enough for us to recommend.

The Realme C2 is a bit of a mixed bag. While the software is great, cameras perform well, and battery life is excellent, the use of a weak chipset results in a jittery experience. there is also just 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage on the base variant, which can further hamper multitasking on this phone. The Realme C2 makes sense for those looking for a bare minimum Android smartphone. If you have the budget to go for the higher storage variant, just pick up the Redmi 7 instead.

The Redmi 5A is one of the best entry-level smartphones offered by Xiaomi. Its battery backup is wonderful, and the display quality is quite satisfactory. While a fingerprint scanner and better cameras could have helped, these aren't major concerns considering how affordable this handset is. It certainly gets our recommendation for someone looking for a basic smartphone to get the job done.

The Redmi A1 boasts a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a HD+ resolution. The phone runs Android 12 Go Edition out of the box with stock Android UI on top. It also offers good battery life, thanks to a 5,000mAh battery equipped with it. Furthermore, this entry-level handset even has a 3.5mm audio jack. However, note that you will have to compromise on cameras and performance. If your priority is clean software and a longer battery life with a bigger display, then you can go for the Redmi A1.

Realme C11 2021 runs on Android 11 Go version which is why it only gets 2GB RAM. The cameras on both sides are basic, and you will get normal daily work done on the device. It offers a big HD+ screen along with a big capacity battery for long backup. You get 32GB storage that is further expandable. This phone caters to select users, who need a basic smartphone for regular tasks. Not meant for heavy users. Better to skip this one.

Samsung has added the Galaxy M02 to its lineup. This budget Android phone features a big 6.5-inch HD+ screen but using quad-core chipset in 2021 is rather inexplicable. Add to that, you have 2GB RAM which does not cut out for smartphone users nowadays. Having said that, you get Android 10 pre-installed, it has dual rear cameras and a big capacity battery for long backup. If you are on a strict budget, the Galaxy M02 is worth looking at.

The Galaxy A10 is Samsung's attempt to rejuvenate its entry-level smartphone lineup. However, the phone can't match offerings from other brands like Honor, Realme, and Xiaomi. Its design is uninspiring, the screen is okay, cameras are quite average, performance is poor, and battery life is below par in its price segment. Nothing about the phone is competitive enough. We would advise you to steer clear from this phone as there are better phones out there.

The Redmi 7 is a worthy upgrade over the Redmi 6. the phone offers a good display, amazing battery life, and more than acceptable performance. The only problem is that the base variant offers only 2GB of RAM now, and the higher RAM model only offers 32GB of storage and not 64GB like the Redmi 6. The Realme C1 is one of the best entry-level smartphones one can buy in India. It offers one of the best battery lives we have seen thus far from a phone of this caliber. While the phones large HD+ display makes the image pixelated, the color accuracy is decent, and it does get bright enough for outdoor use. We do wish the performance and camera could have been better, but it is hard to complain considering how affordable this device is.
